I've found that a good tooth brushing and even flossing before putting the horn to one's face seems to avoid the "slime" problem. BTW my favorite pizza is pepperoni, jalapenos, garlic and anchovies - can't get enough of them.

This happens when you slur too much. To avoid slime only play staccato. If you already have slime, switch to marcato. Play louder.

Another solution is to stop playing altogether. This has worked well for many people.
