need a nice gig bag for a Fafner (rotary)

Post by jimgray »

Happy holidays, all-

Does anyone have recommendations on the latest/greatest?
I've always loved Altieri bags, but am open to better options.

thanks-

I just bought two Wessex bags (one for my PT6P and one for my PT10) and couldn't be happier with either. They are great bags and don't cost a fortune. My next recommendation would be for a Cronkhite, but I think the Wessex is a better bag for less.

So does the Wessex XL bag exist and does it fit the Fafner? Jonathan...?

Hm... the measurements for the Fafner are just a little larger than I thought, making it just too big for the two large bags that Wessex makes. Hopefully Jonathan does respond with what he suggests/has that will work.

I've never owned a Cronkhite - will check that out.
Other suggestions welcome.

In the service band I am in we just got Cronkhites for our Fafners. Excellent gig bag.

Cordura - we were trying to keep the cost down.

If you do order you may want to mention that you want what the 82nd Airborne Division Band ordered. We had to send a few bags back because of the wrong size.

The large Pro-Tec bag will work as well for the Fafner

Nah - my sousaphone bag is a pro-tech - I hate it.
Not likely to buy another pro-tech product.

That's my worry too...
I'll ask the maker about the weight delta.
