WTB: Weril j681 CC Tuba

Post by JRAsh »

Heading to the Peace Corps in Ukraine and would like to buy this horn for easy travel. Preferably with a hard case. I already have a Gronitz PCK-5 and a PT-15, but big and very expensive horns may not be the best way to go.

Check out Lee Stofer's site. He's got one for sale. I can vouch for this specific horn as I used to own it. Its a great horn and Lee has done some excellent work on it. http://tubameister.com/2015/09/weril-j6 ... a-2395-00/" target="_blank" target="_blank

I second SousaWarrior9's suggestion. If it's the same one I tried at Lee's shop when I was there a few months ago, that's a really nice horn.

This is now a politics thread.

I endorse Ace's tuba. I sold it to him, and it is a sweet, silver plated example. When last I saw it, it had what appeared to be blokewashers installed (came to me that way) and I put Mead springs in it.

You will recognize this tuba, Michael. It is a very good instrument, in superb condition. I'm glad I purchased it from you.

Talked to Lee Stofer on the phone and he stated his horn has been sold and he's in the process of taking it off the website. I appreciate the suggestions, though! Keep them coming! I may also be interested in a Yamaha 621 or a Josef Lidl LCB 702.

How about the BMB 3/4 CC (J-834-in lacquer, silver, 4 valves or 5 valves)? I've never seen one in person, but several I've spoken to say it blows away a 621CC. It goes for around $4000., I believe. If I find one I like, I may sell my 621CC.

I have a Weril 4-valve C tuba (silver) that I would like to sell. (serial number J19148) I am not a brass player so I'm not very familiar with this instrument, but I've been told it's in great shape and plays really well. (It was my daughter's second instrument and she needs only one now...).

Can you give me a rough idea of what this horn is worth?

Thanks!

I have a Weril 3/4 size silver 4-valve C tuba (serial number J19148). It is in very good condition and has a hard case with wheels. I live in Colorado, so I don't know what shipping arrangements could me made.
Let me know if you're interested.
