Vintage 1960's Blessing Junior Sousaphone

Post by markwarreneddy »

Blessing "Junior" Sousaphone BBb for sale. Manufactured in Elkhart, Indiana. I was told in the mid 1960's. Can't find any info on this model online, thought someone might be able to help. This instrument is smaller than most other sousaphones, which gives it a very focused, clear sound, that is still big, with depth and punch. The low register, especially low F, is killin!

The valves are in EXCELLENT condition, sounds even in all registers, plays in tune with 3 standard sousa bits. The slides are unfortunately stuck, but it's currently in the repair shop getting fixed. ProTec soft case is included.

Here's a link to pics: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/po8tt11f026c ... uKcFa?dl=0" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank

I'm not sure how much this is worth. Purchased in 2010 for $1k. I live in LA where sousaphones tend to sell well because of the Banda brass bands. Would like to keep it in SoCal if possible. Send me a PM

If you look at the pics, the etching on the bell reads Blessing Junior.

22 inches I believe. it's in the shop currently - getting the slides unstuck and valves aligned.
