Please check out this lovely and unusual 6 valve Vienna model tuba on the Brass Ark website. It is on consignment there. John

The shop in Mainz always seemed to have at least two of these for sale every time I visited. Lower price than the other F's in the shop, too.

Correct Bloke, with the slides in the "long" steps are not really long.

Hi Bloke.bloke wrote:Am I seeing, basically, this configuration (or something else)?
top to bottom:
LEFT HAND:
"6th valve" (long half step)
"5th valve" (long whole step)
"1st valve" (regular whole step)
RIGHT HAND:
"2nd valve" (regular half step)
"3rd valve" (minor third)
"4th valve" (perfect 4th)
...??
I bought few months ago a 156 like this model but is younger.
Left Hand
1s whole one step
2s long half step
3s short one step
Right Hand
1s third
2s half step
3s perfect 4th

Actually Dante is correct, I'm afraid I scanned Bloke's post rather than reading it. All this short and long business is a bit qualified for my taste--one great aspect of the horn is that there are several ad-hoc fingerings for most pitches.
