Unfortunately for me, a headgasket went out on my second vehicle, so my loss is your gain.
I LOVE this horn, if not for the above situation I would keep it, but it has the least amount of seniority of the horns in my arsenal.
A lot of time was spent on this making it a usable horn. When I received this horn the slides were almost impossible to move, much of the tubing was crooked, and the whole valve body could be rocked around. The leadpipe was also very awkward and required the player to hug the horn, making it very uncomfortable to play.
Now The 1st, 3rd, and 4th slides have been set up to be pulled, and every slide has been aligned. I added several braces and added a brace to the leadpipe, lifting it off the bell to make it comfortable. The only thing that I didn't get around to doing was adding a fifth valve
This is a very fun horn, tuning is reasonable for an F tuba, and the low end is pretty damn solid (I am a huge fan of low C of this horn). This horn sings on top of the staff, and blends nicely in quintet and quartets, and has been my main axe in my Tuba Quartet since I got it. I have been using a Yamaha Bobo Solo piece.
Horn comes with an ugly homemade bag with a drawstring, fits well. Price is $800 + ship. Will ship Greyhound.
