An outfit called "O'Malley" sells a horn exactly like the berg:

Close, but some differences (besides the 3/4 step 5th V slide)....

Wessex has sold the Berg with that same slide because the longer slide wouldn't fit in the hard case.

Yes, they did, but not now...and there are other differences too...look at the images, composition, specs, & price....kmorgancraw wrote:Wessex has sold the Berg with that same slide because the longer slide wouldn't fit in the hard case.

The ad says the front bell rotary horn comes with two bells. Interesting.

Re: 'New' Schiller tubas on eBay
A few years back I talked to them on the phone and did buy a tuba from them. The guy I talked to on the phone obviously had better things to be doing at the time. The other thing is that they are very adamant about their no returns policy. The tuba I got was good and served it's purpose. Their prices do make it tempting to endure their lack of service for the same instruments that others sell.

I go to the store in the Twin Cities regularly to play the horns he has on hand and to just visit. This store is primarily a piano store with a small band instrument selection. Marty is a great guy to deal with but is limited to what the "big" store sends him. He has tried to get in some of the different tubas for me to try out (I was in the market this past fall) but couldn't seem to get much brought to him. I know that he sells quite a few of the euphoniums from his store. One of the members of the community band I lead bought one a year ago after I tried it out for him, and is very pleased with it. I also bought a 3 valve compensating baritone from him about 4 years ago and have been pleased.Curmudgeon wrote:People have done that and reported similar experiences. Anyone actually physically visit them?
If I ever make it out to Stevens Point I plan to visit the main store, but I don't see that happening anytime soon.
