Tuba Part to Ohio State University Fight Song

Post by Michael Grant »

Hello Fellow BBS's:

My neighbor played tuba in high school and grew up new Columbus. When they have parties she likes me to bring my tuba and she plays whatever she can remember. It's pretty fun. She really wants the tuba part to the OSU fight song and was hoping I could get it for her. Does anyone have a copy they could send me as a PDF? It would bring much joy to Amanda.

The real name of that tune is "Across the Field". Send me your email and let me know if you want anything other than just the bass part. danschultz@wowway.com" target="_blank

Yep, even in Ypsilanti. I could have a very interesting tuba quartet battle in my backyard. Amanda is an OSU fan, the women behind her is a Michigan grad and the couple behind her are Notre Dame grads that met while playing euphonium in the Notre Dame marching band. My wife is a Michigan grad with a masters from Michigan State. I could get the tuba parts to all four schools and the quartet could play them at the same time. That might sound funny or they might all be in Ab or Eb and they would probably sound about the same. Either way, nothing like a good backyard brawl to get spring started!

Thanks, Dan.

If you have an iphone or apple device there is an Ohio state marching band app that has every song for every instrument within the app.

Read the Michigan fight song upside down, see if the Ohio State song comes out. I recall Michael to be clever about stuff like that.
