Antigua's are decent student horns, we carry or at least carried some of their sopranos... not bad, not amazing.

edit: The current "Accent" (a significant upgrade from their previous saxes) alto and tenor are just about the same as these others - though Accent doesn't seem to offer many options (finishes/bell sizes, trim, etc). I don't know if the Accent bari is of the same quality as the Antigua/Cannonball/Winston, but it might be worth looking into.

If it's Taiwanese Accent, you might want to see if there's a Selmer Aristocrat or Conn Director Bari Sax, same factory, slightly different bracing, and in this region it would be cheaper but we price pretty honestly at my store.

I am considering buying a Selmer Bs500 Bari Sax for my band program. I have a little information on it but would like to hear some personal experiences....anybody got one?

As a former CS employee, I can tell you that the BS500 is a good instrument. Last I knew, it was a Vietnamese made instrument, and replacement parts were readily available. The 500 line always has had good support from the overseas manufacturer. The next model up doesn't have the same level of support, at least from my last report. Hope this helps!
