Re: Well shouldered!
This was at the B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore as part of the 150th commemoration of the Lincoln Funeral train
Taken from the comments on facebook.
Have to say I loved the sound and the OTS instruments were very nimble.

Re: Well shouldered!
As an aside, I would like to see events like this posted in the Upcoming Events section. Between the celebration itself and the concert it seems like it would have been well worth a trip from New Jersey.sousaphone68 wrote:This was at the B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore as part of the 150th commemoration of the Lincoln Funeral train

Re: Well shouldered!
I only knew about the event having happened from a friend’s FB page.
The composer of this two-step has a story that I didn’t know before:
http://civilwar.gratzpa.org/2012/05/wil ... n-witness/
This music has some traits also known from German folksy band music, but I could identify it a being American within the first 6 seconds.
Formally it has a trait I never heard before. Bass section solos are not uncommon at all, but I never before heard one as the last element before the final fanfare.
Which key is the music? Is it ending in the high pitch version of Db?
Klaus
