Hello all,
I'm going against my better judgement and buying a couple old "beaters" to play around with and have something to learn brass repair on.
One of them looks like it will require some patches to be put on, i've looked at Mcmaster-Carr and made note of several different grades of brass available in various thicknesses, I plan to mic the existing material to determine what thickness of material I will need, but I'm not sure what grade brass would be best to use.
Mcmaster-Carr carries the following grades of brass sheet:
260
353
360
385
464
Any suggestions on what would work best?

Re: Brass Material Grades
The 260 brass will get the job done nicely. It's the closest to being what most horns are made of.
