Cerveny Piggy mid-1970s - Trade or Sale - Massachusetts

Post by thegreatrodinkis »

Hello everybody. I've got a beautiful Cerveny Piggy CC from the mid 70's that I might be willing to trade or sell for the right offer, as I'm looking to upgrade.
I've been using this horn for over 3 years now. It plays absolutely fantastically and it's an absolutely amazing instrument for any range of players. My instructor currently plays one and has been using the same horn since the early 90s.
There is some minor wear on the horn, as over time is obviously going to occur. There are some small dents in minor places around the horn, as well as one fairly large dent in the end of the wrap of the horn. There is also a small fold in the bell where one of my classmates hit it accidentally during a high school band rehearsal. All of these are easily fixable if you would like to do it yourself. Or, upon request, it could be done ahead of time.
I'm looking to upgrade to something a little bit larger and more powerful, and I'm ideally looking for a CC that can provide a bigger sound than this. The horn plays fantastically and provides a great sound for the ensembles that I'm in now, however I want to go to something bigger for college.
I'm mostly interested in offers within Massachusetts or some of the surrounding states, as I don't really feel comfortable shipping the horn and if a deal were worked out I would rather arrange a meeting to drop it off or have it picked up.
I would also be willing to except an F tuba, however it would be harder for me to accept that because I need more of an all around horn like a CC for what I plan to accomplish at this moment in time.
I don't have the horn on me at this moment as it's locked up at school, however if you would like pictures send a private message and I should be able to get you some. More detailed pictures would be available on Monday.
Thanks! :tuba:
