Hello all
Awhile back I was digging through iTunes and came across a fantastic German group called Die Innsbrucker. If you haven't already, you should go and download "Tuba Wahnsinn" as it is one of the craziest polka/oom-pah/gee-whiz tunes that I have ever heard.
Does anyone have any information about this group, i.e, website? I have done a Google search but my German is a little rusty (read, non-existent) and I can't seem to find anything about them. Secondly, do any of our tuba friends across the pond know if any of their music is commercially available? I would love to try and grow some cajones so that I could tackle "Tuba Wahnsinn".
Any imput would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think the group as such is still together--at least not when I search the bios of the members. However, here's what I did find:
Funny, I thought Innsbruck was in Austria, not Germany...

Re: Die Innsbrucker
Searching tubenet I stumbled over this thread and figured I might as well revive it.
Currently I´m helping out a local amateur septet preparing (MOSTLY musically, of course
)for local beerfests. That´s three trumpets, two oval tenor horns, Tuba, and drums.
We´ll be playing at the http://www.klostertalwoche.at/ in Braz, Austria as well as the http://mvegg.com/bezirksmusikfest-egg-2016-programm/.
Most of our repertoire consists of original literature of the "Die Innsbrucker Böhmische".
These are still active, having released their latest CD this April. In fact, they´ll be performing at the fest in Egg as well.
Fun stuff, and quite a bit for me to get used to:
Attacks different to everyday community band and/or wind orchestra, strange waltz grooves, and lots of "false friends" as in seemingly simple tuba parts that offer all kinds of traps.
It´s a good idea to sit on stage facing the drummer rather than the audience.
The MW 2011 sure comes in handy on this gig.
I´m having more fun than I expected when I accepted the request.
