Hard Cases

Post by josh wagner »

I have a tuxedo gig bag for my Meinl Weston 2155 but i'm looking for a hard case or something that i can put my tuba in while i'm going to and from school. Currently i have it shoved in the back seat of my toyota corolla (i have to put the seats down just to make it fit  ) Does anyone know where i can find a hard case for a reasonable price or some other alternative. Or any suggestions :D Thank you for your input.

For around $300 you might be able to get a Dolly Bag. It has plastic armor built in which should help greatly.

Finding a hard case which is going to be practical to haul around a lot and durable enough to last more that 1 year at $300 is REALLY tough.

Here you go. Maybe one of these will fit.

I am quite happy with my Dollybags soft/hard case for my YFB621. I have a Walt Johnson hard case for my Yorkbrunner, but it is so incredibly heavy and bulky it just sits in my garage. I use my Tubaworld bag for the 6/4 mainly. I have to be very careful, because it does not protect hardly as well as the Dollybags. Someday I hope to get a Dollybags for the Yorkbrunner, but I don't take it out enough to warrant the cost.

If it only barely fits in the Corolla now...you might also have to get a new car if you get a hard case. Or a really, really big roof rack.
MA, who isn't going to get a new vehicle until after she buys the BAT

Or, get a nice big case with big wheels, and then invest in a trailer hitch... :)
