Sold: Miraphone 1281 Petrushka

Post by KyleRichter »

For sale is my Miraphone Petrushka f tuba that was purchased brand new from the Horn Guys in February 2015. This is a great piston tuba that plays easier than any f tuba I've tried. Every bit of the horn responds very evenly and very immediately.

-It has the Alan Baer PVAK installed on it, along with lighter Yamaha piston valve springs, since I wasn't a fan of how heavy the original ones were (the original springs and neoprene pads are still in the case should your preference differ from mine).

-I special ordered a long (two step) fifth valve from Miraphone because I like being able to play pedal f with all five valves down, but the original fifth valve slide is still with the horn.

-Comes with a custom Cronkhite gig bag that is two tone, tan on the sides and black along the gusset. As well as an MTS hard case that fits the horn absolutely perfectly. Had absolutely no issue flying to Knoxville from LA with this MTS case last weekend. The case was both undersized and underweight so no additional fees came from checking it on the plan (huge bonus!).

-Asking $8,750 for all this great stuff together, and I can include your choice of mouthpiece out of what I've got: a Miraphone TU-27 Rose solo, TU-23, G&W Szentpali F, Denis Wick AT7U, and possibly some others I can't think of right

If you've got any questions, feel free to text or call me. 619-207-3941

Bump for a link to some pictures of the tuba. Any other angles or close ups can be available on request if I've accidentally neglected to show an area of interest.

Everything on the horn is in perfect condition except one thing: the bell. As you can see in one of the close ups of the bell, it was dropped (while in the bag, so no scratching) at one point which put a small crease in the bell, which was rolled out very easily, but leaving behind a faint mark.

I've put several hair-ties in different places on the horn in order to keep the slides from falling out, since they're very well aligned and I like to keep several of them very freely moving.

Feel free to email me at kyle.richter@live.com" target="_blank, or message me on here if you've got any further questions. I'm more than happy to answer anything.

Last week, I heard the brass quintet component of the U.S. Air Force Band of the Golden West. The quintet is stationed at Travis AFB in Fairfield CA, but it tours all over the western states region. The tuba player was amazing, as was his instrument. Talking with him after the concert, I learned his horn was a Miraphone F "Petrushka".

I'm not sure I follow, Miraphone doesn't make a Petrushka CC.
