Hello, I am a tuba student at IAA and I am looking for a solo to work on over the summer. I am a rising 10th grader who has 4 years of experience on the tuba. Any suggestions will be helpful!
Thank you!

Re: Solo advice
What Mark said.
But having said "What Mark said," I'll also suggest checking out Air and Bourree, J.S. Bach/arr. Bell - Carl Fischer LLC. It's a great piece for players at many different ability levels.

Re: Solo advice
I just finished air and bourree and I played it for my jury. That is the only significant solo that I've played. I am comfortable up to a Bb right before middle c58mark wrote:iaatuba19 wrote:Hello, I am a tuba student at IAA and I am looking for a solo to work on over the summer. what have you played in the past, and what high notes are you comfortable with?

Re: Solo advice
Both Sonata No.3 in A minor by Vivaldi and Variations on the Theme of Judas Maccabeus by Beethoven would be doable, and give you a chance to work on/show off multiple facets of your playing.
