Re: FS: Martin Mammoth
That's a very beautiful Martin! I have not seen many in that nice of a condition. Who ever buys it is going to have a great tuba that is perfect for any large ensemble playing. I currently use mine for windensemble and military ceremoneis. My conductor and low brass section loves the sound.

Martins were "Cadillac" horns. I am not sure how many people still know that. What a beautiful example!

I've never seen a .750 bore Martin. Their large bore was .712. At what point are you measuring the bore?

Re: FS: Martin Mammoth price change. Last chance!
Bump for a awesome Martin. If anyone is looking for a 6/4 tuba that plays circles around other 6/4 tubas that are twice the price this is the tuba to buy. I have not played this tuba but I have played many like it and I have never played a Martin that didnt play well(as long as the valves are aligned). I hate that the current tuba trend is all about CC 6/4 tubas being the only tuba to be used in a orchestra. I would have no problem using my 3 valve top action Martin in any orchestra setting. Of course having a 4th valve does make things alot easier.
P.s.
I have found that the sellsmanberger symphony works really well with Martin tubas.

Re: FS: Martin Mammoth: price change.
I hate to break it to you, but using a tape measure to measure an accurate bore is basically useless.
The difference between .750 and .712 is .038. To give you a reference, .03125 is 1/32". I'd say it's pretty difficult to judge a difference this small, especially when using the wonky end of a tape measure (I don't even use the end of a tape measure when cutting two by fours for framing).
You can buy a digital caliper at Homey Depot for about $15 to $20 - it's a good investment, especially when measuring the bore of a horn you are trying to sell for over $5000.
When it comes to Martin tubas (among other things), Paul knows of what he speaks.
(BTW, from what I can see in your picture, the bore appears to look smaller than 3/4". Are you sure you are measuring the inside diameter of the tubing?)
