My York arrived 5 days after drop off last week traveling from Massachusetts to southern Utah with no damage! I'm loving Greyhound!

Cheers,
Jared

Yes... Greyhound does a spectacular job despite their very low liability limits. I've never had a loss.

HOWEVER.... just remember to add some extra days during holiday travel times and always check their website to see which terminals handle freight and what their hours are. Passengers and their stuff takes priority over freight.

I will agree - this is EXTREMELY important, as they ("other") are far less familiar with shipping freight than Greyhound. If anyone will lose your package, it will likely be "other" - (learned from personal experience  )

Score one here too! I just received a Conn 12J from South Carolina. It was shipped Saturday (at the earliest) or Sunday (the seller said he would get it out one of those days) and it arrived at the station here in Lincoln this morning!

Not bad. You must have caught it just right. I heard somewhere that Greyhound only runs one bus a month to Nebraska! :D :tuba:

Nice one Dan! :D I've had really good luck getting tubas here fast. I think the longest it's taken has been three days. My bet is that there's always room underneath because everyone is leaving, but not many are coming!

The several times I've received a tuba via GH, it has gotten stuck in Omaha. Lots of space going to Omaha, but once it gets there, the buses are full coming to Denver (and points west), so it normally takes a few extra days to make the trip from Omaha to Denver. Who knows if that's true but it's happened several times now.

Whatever YORK-aholic does with his own new tuba, he shipped me one by Greyhound yesterday (this one) and so far I'm impressed with the new tracking system. The package has been scanned twice already. Used to be it was a lot if it was scanned twice in the whole trip.

It arrived today, Tuesday to Friday, San Diego to Huntsville, without shipping damage.

So maybe I should have waited before saying something good about the "new" tracking system. I just got a call that a tuba that was shipped to me last Friday has arrived. I'm going to pick it up in a couple of hours. It never did get scanned in to the tracking system. I still think this is the safest, most reliable (though clearly not infallible) way to ship a tuba. If they would actually fix the tracking by creating positive and negative incentives for their employees to make it work, and not just fiddle with software, they would really have something.
