YAMAHA SILENT BRASS FOR TUBA

Post by eeflattuba »

I am a big fan of these since I sold my house and moved into a small townhouse. They may be not be everybody's cup of tea but it works for me.My question is;is there a new model of this particular mute available? Mine is showing signs of wear as most of the clips that hold the mute together are broken. It still works but I am just exploring other options. I have tried other practice mutes but the silent brass system seems to fit my needs when I can not go to my shop to practice open.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am aware of that but the companies that supply said clips do not ship to Canada. There is a facebook group called tuba/euphonium in which John Manning, tuba professor from Iowa mentions in a thread that he tried the new Yamaha silent brass at ITEC.
