Cork fell off spit valve. Help!

Post by The Tuba Fish »

Hello all, the cork that prevents the spit valve from banging against the valve slide has fallen off my tuba. I have the cork, but am unsure as to how to reattach it.

"Goop" (a type of rubber cement with many uses) also works well. All hardware stores and building supply places carry it. A tiny dab will do the job. Keep the rest on hand for all kinds of other repairs.

Just remember that you may have to replace said cork in the future, so don't use too much of anything...
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

So this is not the spit valve cork per se, but the small piece on the back of the lever that some companies add to minimize scratching the finish, right?

A small bit of contact cement should work fine. You can find some at home centers or big box retailers (eg, walmart). Can you tell where it was originally?
