For anyone who watched the Capital 4th on PBS, Stephen Dumaine is a HAAS, right?!? Though he may have been mic'ed (perfectly), his presence was INCREDIBLE!!
The last chord of the 1812, he certainly played the 2-octave-lower pedal EEb and I think he got a great reaction from Tom Bergeron - "Felt that last one in your chest!".
If you missed it, it's worth looking-for with a great set of subs/speakers.

I went to the "dress rehearsal" for the show on Sunday night, and I was really, really impressed by the sound of the orchestra. He sounded fantastic, and I agree...the mic setup seemed to be perfect to get the tuba sound through.
