Monette measurements?

Is there anywhere online that lists the measurements (rim diameters) for Monette tuba mouthpieces?

They are huge-by-expensive.

It took me about three times around the block thinking these things must be somehow worth at least what they go for used, before I finally accepted that they aren't.

I don't know where I got the information but I am pretty sure the 94 and 98 are 33mm and the 97 is 32.5mm. I don't know about the others.

This rings true. The 94 range all have a rim shape and ID very similar to a modern Conn Helleberg.
The Mendoker models are I'm the region of 32.8mm with a cushioned shape.

The shortened shank, with the very blunt end, seems to have some effect with both slotting and the degree of facility in articulation. I also find it works better on some horns than others. Since mine at least tends to sit really far in the receiver, the pitch is too high for some of my horns, particularly the ones that are designed to already work at 442/3. . I understand several of these (94 and 94 F) were made for Chester Schmitz and fitted to his particular receivers. The 94 does seem to be very similar to the Helleberg 2 at least in the cup area. I do think they are very fine pieces, the F I have often thought of as the best F solo piece out there. But there are times when I hate it as much as I have loved it on other days. For me they seem to have a prescribed sound that they want you to make, and when I fight them with a "sound of a different persuasion" I run into problems. That's when I want a simple Helleberg with no extreme tweaking. But always tend to keep messing with them.
