For those who don't know - Miraphone's name is constructed from “Mira” meaning “to reflect” and “phone” meaning a “sound-transmitting device.”

Of course, I only own a "MiraFone" Which, like my own last name, is what happens when the Feds process you when you come to America.

Happy B-day Miraphone - a co-op that works.

Dear TubeNet - User´s,

Thank you so much for the "Happy - Birthday" wishes. After the second world war it was not easy to establish a new company. In the case of Miraphone the founders had only two bags after their expulsion from Graslitz. I think, one bag with personal stuff like clothes and the other bag with some tool´s to work on brass instruments and the rest of the knowledge was in their mind. For the founders was the co-op not unusual because they were also in Graslitz often organized in this form. This was also the reason, I think, why they have been chosen that form for a company. By the way, around the year 1949 they started to made plastic clarinets but stopped this after some pieces because they got not enough material.
On behalf of the company let me very warmly say thank you for the trust into the Miraphone products.

With best wishes from Waldkraiburg, Germany,
Christian Niedermaier, Miraphone eG

Mira comes from the Latin language 'mirare' that means 'to admire sth.'
Miraphone stands for admirable sound.
