Bless her! I am sorry whenever I hear of someone going into hospice care, but those folks do great work keeping patients comfortable. I don't know if I could do that work day after day.

Bless those hospice folks - they are the best. They truly make a most difficult event bearable.

Dear Bloke, I really feel sorry for all your mother-in-law has gone through. My parents had decided they wanted no extreme, artificial measures to prolong life. She went into hospital Sunday before Thanksgiving. When the doctors said she would need a feeding tube into her stomach, she went to hospice instead. My father was with her when she died. None of us kids (we are all 60+) got up to see her. He said she wouldn't have wanted to be seen that way anyway. She died peacefully and with dignity. When it is time, I wish the same for me and for your mother-in-law also.

Thanks to all for the sympathy expressed to all of us who are experiencing loss.

Thanks to all. Even for those thoughts and prayers that are not expressed. The thought does count.

Can't have that happening Last week we had a long spell of days near or over the 100 degree mark and by Monday my 70yr old body had had enough. Ambulance to hospital to stabilise angina and get the kidneys working again. It was no fun but home after a day. I finally decided to invest in a portable airconditioner for the bedroom. Seems we are in for a long HOT summer.

Damn, Ken. Glad you're okay. I think the AC unit will prove to be a wise investment.

My 18 month old son walked over to my tuba today, put his mouth in the mouthpiece, and started making noises into the horn. Later, he pulled the tuba ornament off of the Christmas tree and handed it to me.

Kid is off to a real good start. :)

Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

DC-Area Marching Bands Opt to Sit Out Trump's Inaugural Parade

http://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local ... 87625.html" target="_blank" target="_blank

If no D.C. bands welcome Trump to the White House, many young musicians from across the country will be eager to take their place.

"Bands from all over are waiting to get that letter," Kuehnhold said.

Unexpectedly, I was given an offer I could not refuse for my 1911 Conn double bell Euphonium. So, I now have to consider options for replacement. Not knowing what I need complicates the issue. Luckily, I have a friend willing to borrow me a horn for a while, giving me time to sort things out. One of my brass groups has lost a member and thus may disband or substantially change. That is where I play euphonium, so I may not need to replace this horn. I have a couple more horns to sell to thin the collection. 2017 will be a year of change.

Maybe. Exactly what color is this Fender medium soft tortoise shell guitar pick? Where was it last seen? When was it noticed to be missing? Where all has she looked already? I have a silver one I can send... or does she prefer lacquer? I've heard that the raw tortoise shell ones resonate better. Is that true?
