Robert Tucci mouthpieces

Post by imperialbari »

Without any intentions of acting as a shill, I still think it might be of interest to TubeNet readers to quote part of a mail I got from Bob Tucci’s store near Munich:

“For 2017, in order to maintain those factors most valued by and beneficial to our customers, these mouthpieces are now available from specialist dealers under a new brand.

Robert Tucci mouthpieces are of new manufacture, refined to accommodate evolution of tonal concepts and performance. Specifications subject to change. Model designations are RT-XX.”

Klaus, who uses mouthpieces by Perantucci, Paul Sidey, Mike Finn, Sellmansberger, Denis Wick, Yamaha, Conn, Bach, Kelly, Giardinelli, plus some anonymous ones (most with backbores modified by myself)

A new brand and "refined" probably a lot like the MrP line of mouthpieces I would guess. So does that mean that the Perantucci brand is disappearing completely?

I could have quoted the full mail for more clarity, but then I would have relayed a sales talk that would have turned me into the shill, I don’t want to be.

And yes, It is my understanding that the RT range of mouthpieces will replace the PT range.

Hrmm... the letter "P" just needs an extra little arm to become an "R". Sounds like they can take all of those PT's in stock and etch in an extra little line. Bam... The "PT" is now an "RT".

Robert Tucci Mouthpieces

Post by Robert Tucci »

Gentleman,

Thank you for your comments and in particular, for the "flowers". Our former distributor to which we no longer supply mouthpieces holds the PT trademark in the United States. My company owns this for all European and Far Eastern countries including Japan, China and Australia. With contemporary communication and logistics a distributor is no longer necessary. In order to keep prices as low as possible the new RT brand, USPTO registered, is offered directly to those dealers in the United States who work hard to provide musicians the best equipment and services possible on good terms.

I have more than forty years invested in the mouthpieces. In 1995-1996 I began moving production from old hand-operated machines to a modern computer controlled double-spindle lathe. One after another each of the preferred models were programmed and since then developed and refined. Musicians are better than ever, our repertoire is more demanding and there are more and better instruments available.

In short: PT remains PT for all countries other than the United States. Robert Tucci is the new brand for the American market. Some of the new models were presented at the Midwest Clinic in Chicago. They will be available at the Army Band Conference and TMEA. These have significant changes. The basic philosophy remains: refinement and continued development.

The nomenclature on all modern PT/RT mouthpieces is roll-stamped between the double rings on the outside of the cup. All related literature in English and German as well as the logos are protected by copyright. The Robert Tucci web-site will be updated as fast as possible.

Thank you for your interest! We wish you a Happy Holiday and a Great and Musical New Year 2017!
