BMB J445LQ F Tuba (Sold)

Post by chancek31 »

Listed for sale is my Big Mouth Brass J445LQ F tuba. Horn is in great shape, only small dings here and there. This is a 4 piston 1 rotor horn. Bought for finishing my music degree, and now I no longer need it. Will come with a hard case, gig bag and three mouthpieces including a Giddings and Webster Alan Baer solo mouthpiece. Price is $3600 shipping included. I use greyhound for shipping. Earliest ship date will be 12-7-16 as the 6th is the last day i need the horn to finish the semester. Pictures will be added when i get back to campus. Horn located in Oklahoma.

Good grief. Just an observation: what's with all the numbers and letters to designate an F tuba? I think it's time to go back to "Model A", "Model T", whatever. Sounds like a nice instrument at a good price.

J - Jinbao?
4 - F tuba
4 - 4/4 size
5 - 5 valve
LQ - Lacquer

It makes sense within a lineup of instruments. Makes more sense the random model numbers assigned by most manufacturers.

I don't know what the J stands for but it probably isn't Jinbao. BMB used to make and sell a Euphonium and the model number started with a capital I.
