Conn CC 38K project - SOLD

Post by Heliconer »

For sale is this Conn 38k CC sousaphone. From everything I can tell, it is all original. (Except one brace and a new lower neck).

I picked this up as a project but as it turns out I just don't have as much time as I thought I would.

Valves need to be rebuilt and the 2nd branch is pretty beat. I have already disassembled it, so your tech can just jump right in! Make it a usable sousaphone or turn it into the CC Helicon you have always dreamed of!

It comes with the orignal bell, which is also fairly ugly. It has about 1% of its silver left.

Asking $600 (shipped) for this rare bird.

I had no idea Conn made CC sousaphones. That's really interesting.
Somebody needs to fix it up and make it pretty.
Do you know any of the horns history?

I picked it up from a gentleman who found it in Cuba. It was covered in mud when I got it.

I had no idea they had ever made one. And I was honestly sceptical at first, but I suppose if King made a few, it only makes sense that Conn could do the same.

Conn CC sousaphone bell and s# https://imgur.com/gallery/wZl0r" target="_blank

It is a 20K bell. There are no cracks that I have found, but I wouldn't be too surprised if one popped up while working on the 2nd branch. I'll measure the first branch ferrule in the morning.
