I sure hope it doesn't end up in the graveyard.

Seller says:
The tuba is tuned in C with an additional Bb slide.
That photo of the extra slide doesn't look like it adds enough length to lower it to BBb. I would guess this horn was from the high pitch/low pitch conversion era and that is what the extra slide is for.

I can confirm that the Conn was professionally serviced (I saw it on the bench) at Volkweins and also that Ted does good work.

I get that.

That's why I'll buy a BBb tuba, not a CC that plays like a BBb

There's been some discussion about the extra slide. It certainly looks like it could add 24" to the open bugle. I think it's indeed a CC/BBb conversion slide.

The $64 question I would have is... Will it really play well as both a CC and a BBb tuba?

Of course, that may be someone's goal... :|
Meh, it will go for what it goes for. The last few minutes are meaningful, the first few days not so much. Could go for $3,074.00 or ten grand.

Whoa!

The BBb tuning slide looks like it has a tuning slide! Would that be, like, a telescopic tuning slide?

That's profound.

Not sure i can quite wrap my head around that.
Thanks for playing!

Wasn't me either...

Seems we're all surprised at how low it went for.

As much as I love what the Simonetti Collection is, and does; I really hope they didn't win this one.
