A unique one of a kind instrument, built by Gronitz in Germany, as a proof of concept for one of their clients who was writing a paper on the intonation of brass instruments. This is a FULL double Bb/E double bell euphonium (or a true Double Double). That means that there is a change valve and you can switch from Bb to E (can get Eb if you pull the tuning slide on that side all the way out) which in turn switches you from the tenor bell (Bb) to the alto bell (E/Eb). The idea was to be able to create an instrument that could play each note perfectly in tune by using either side of the horn for the ideal intonation... which works if you want to learn a new fingering system... or you can just play it like a Bb euph and a E/Eb alto all in one horn. Takes a standard small shank trombone mouthpiece. $4500
Craftsmanship is stunning. Everything is custom made and hand bent. The valves are custom 8 port rotary valves from Meinlschmidt (like giant double french horn valves).
I would imagine that no maker in the world would be willing to recreate something like this ever again unless you paid them an unreasonable amount of money. Here's your change to get something special, made by one of the most respected makers.
