Got Bell's palsy almost six years ago. This week is the first time since then where buzzing a mouthpiece didn't cause my jaw to cramp/hurt like a SOB for a couple of days. Gonna keep testing/buzzing. Baby steps.. :tuba:

Why limit the comment to just F tubas. I'm guessing that this decade is the first one in history where most amatuer tuba players own their own tuba.... much less own multiple horns including weird stuff like cimbasso, helicons, and aweful-clydes. It's too bad that many of the Asian/India horns produced between 1980 and just a couple of years ago aren't even usable for parts.

Are the newer, cheaper, and "almost as good (x2)" African-made piston F tubas are hitting the market soon?!

You can tune a piano, but you can't tuna fish.
Especially if you don't know your scales.

Down in my tuba room with my wife and she says, "I don't think you have enough tubas". Me pinching myself to be sure I'm not dreaming. (I wasn't)

Autocorrect is not my friend when posting from a phone.
I once sent an email to a customer were the subject line should have been Bair Hugger Service and auto correct changed it to Bear Bugger Service so I consider tuba changed to tuna to be not too bad but still embarrassing.

I put new steel EXTERIOR doors in the shop on Saturday and Sunday. When I converted my two-car garage, I put in two pre-hung INTERIOR doors that I bought for almost nothing because they were slightly damaged. They were supposed to have been temporary but served me well for almost twenty years!

This afternoon I'm going to the local VA clinic for an insurance physical.... my first doctor visit since 1978! No medcations other than a daily vitamin and a baby aspirin.

Life is good. That is all.

Done with the summer community band, now I start the brass in church season. Boy this summer and year seems to be going fast. This week I have 1 concert. Next week, another concert and a parade. 3 more weeks before the brass starts. Next week I get the look at my York Eb.

Nice New Years List of To Do's. May I add, walk 10,000 steps a day and take at least 30 minutes to just relax and reflect each day. The new year starts today if you choose to make it your new year. Note: my shop needs cleaning, I need to finish some of those on the shelf projects and the Mrs. wants me to cook some.

My eleven year old granddaughter informed us she is starting trumpet.

My 32 year old son, not her parent, who plays tuba, played my mother's trumpet last weekend at the interment of her ashes.

My High School BD recently told me on FB that he'd appreciate it if my comments were more on-topic and less snarky.

He said the same thing to me in 1979. :(

Now THAT's an update!!
