What is like to study with Dr. Bowman? What does he require?
Ephesians 2:8
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

2:9
Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Whats it like?

Its simple--you do what he says, the way he says it, and you will gain incredible skills.

He is incredibly polite, so he will never "yell" at you or be over-emotional. Very clinical. He is, however, very straight with you. He will tell you exactly what is wrong with your playing and tell you how to fix it. He is not an ego-inflater, so dont go to him if you are looking for compliments--he will tell you when you truly improve, but dont expect an ego boost otherwise.

Every lesson, every single one... is worthwhile. When I was prepared and pumped, and when I wasnt ready... It didnt matter, he always uses that time to his best (and yours), and you always leave the lesson feeling you accomplished something, and have a ton to think about for next time.

Its a great experience. Do it if you can.

That being said, he is a very busy man. He takes way too much work at UNT--more than he has to actually. If he has time, he will meet you, I'm sure.
