WTB: Fiberglass Sousaphone Body-only (no valve set)

Post by TubaTodd »

My wife's (and mine) 1.5 year old band program recently received a WONDERFUL donation of a fiberglass sousaphone. . The sousie is an Olds made of white fiberglass. The bell, valves and the slides are in GREAT shape, considering it's age. The body of the sousie has been patched MANY times. It is playable, but if my wife and I can find a replacement sousie body, we would like to get it. I seem to remember a time when Matt Walters had a bunch of Conn fiberglass bodies that he sold on ebay (I think) that he removed the valve section for his custom horns.

If anyone has a sousie body laying in storage or a repairshop that isn't being used, please contact me. I know the Olds valve set would fit (obviously) an Olds body, but perhaps it could be easily attached to another brand of body.

Thanks! :)
