I think these ought to be added to our little palette of smileys. The popcorn one I introduced here back in 2005 from another web forum I am (still) very active on, and bloke used the head scratcher recently. The others are all from that other website I took popcorn from. They have a lot there, but most of them never get used. The ones I have in this thread have all proven to be very useful in avoiding fights as they help to better convey sarcasm or frustration. I am serious about that. The mods have told me several times that arguments in threads have needed moderation far less since they included these specific smilies. There are a lot more, of course, but they recommended these to me as having the most examples of use since the fighting slowed down. This is a forum with over 30,000 active members. And they are mostly mechanics and kids who think they are mechanics, so the fighting used to be rather epic and seeing people banned was a daily thing for years.
Anyway, while *I* do not personally use many of these, they are liked and used, so I think these all would be good additions to what we can use natively from our smilie palette.
Can this be done? Can you add them? Or are you limited to a palette supplied by phpBB Group?
I have posted all of them below, linking to them directly from my image host account; you can download them from there, rather than from "some other place" (and having to worry about getting crap from them about it). If it ever becomes an issue *I* can take the heat. They suggested these to me for this forum, so I cannot imagine they own them or would GAS about our using them. I think they are generic smilies from the vast, open spaces of the Free Range Interwebz...

Soft soldering outdoors in a heavy wind sucks. There. I said it.
100% agree. I started a thread admin section about this very topic and even included a lot of the icons that you did, it was basically ignored but I will ask again.

Same goes for me too.

It's on the server level. The emojis haven't been updated because, honestly, it's difficult. If we ever decide to update the board software, I will insert the graphics. Also, not all software is the same. I'm keeping them in mind because I love the heart ones
Oh, and when the board is updated, many many tubenet folks will be unhappy with the updated software. So there's that, too. Happy Holidays. --fc

Thanks for the reply, Farah!

Old dogs are gonna have to learn new tricks. A lot of people didn't like the change to the current format. Oh well, change is the be of the game.

Some have a hard time with change. It seems especially software change. But, after a month or so, everyone who wants adapts and those who can't or won't go away. Bummer.
Thanks for the work on TubeNet. From my keyboard, things seem to be going well and what problems that have cropped up were handled.
