"Live"?

Post by Chuck(G) »

Sometines words don't mean anything anymore, it seems.

From my Yahoo! TV program guide:
Andre Rieu Live From Dublin
PBS 28 Jun 05 08:00pm Add to My Calendar
Special/Music, 120 Mins.

The conductor leads a performance of the Johann Strauss Orchestra at the Dublin Depot in Ireland.

Original Airdate: June 20, 2003.
It seems to me that Andy Roo could be a-moldering in the grave and this thing would still be called "Live". In point of fact, when it hit the US Market, it was never "Live".

So, what does "Live" mean?

One take. Or in front of an audience.

I was at an orchestra rehearsal the other night and some one was complaining about a "mean" conductor they had recently performed with. For some reason, I thought of Andy Roo. Although I have absolutely no knowledge about the guy, I get the feeling that he has the potential to rival Buddy Rich in the infamous bus tape.

BTW, I agree that "recorded live" is the correct term.

Un-edited, for rude sounds, temper tantrums and clams?

If it's un-edited, why not just say so?

Maybe Mr Jacobs was right when he said TV reruns were "Almost Live."
