This "Frankentuba" is in Springfield, MA. It looks and plays great. The bugle is a W. Nirschl J-700, which is a very nice bugle. I replaced the valves, leadpipe and the main tuning slide with mostly King stuff. The main slide is from a J. W. York and Sons part, but the large leg is new Mirafone tubing. I put a small ring on the underside of the first slide, so a band could be attached and wrapped around the brace below if desired. This tuba comes with a W. Nirschl "MTS style" (not MTS) hard case.
It has some scratches on the back of the bell stack from where a previous owner had metal shirt buttons, or a zipper or something. The scratches go through the lacquer, and are unsightly, but they aren't gouges in the metal. I will consider trades in part, but don't really want an outright trade for something nice. I am selling it primarily to raise the much needed funds to properly fix, hot rod and customize my 6/4.
