Power was out for two days, just restored late last night.

We had three tornadoes in my area on Tuesday (very unusual for these parts).

My grandson, now 11, is a Weird Al fan, should I be worried?

(No, he doesn't play tuba and he likes soccer).

If he is still a Weird Al fan after he gets his drivers license, THEN you should start worrying!!

Nearing the end of my stint in Germany working with a Boy’s Choir. Don’t want to leave here, but excited to be back in the States and get started on graduate work. Y’all have been updated.

My son, the tuba player, just graduated from BOTC, Basic Officer Training Course, commissioned as Ensign in NOAA Commissioned Corps. Training was at US Coast Guard Academy in Groton, Conn. in conjunction with a Coast Guard OCS.

USCG Quintet Band provided the music. Thanks to all.

They're not really famous for eating grass, though, either. More browsers than grazers, though no doubt they'll eat it if it's all there is. I was thinking geese, they love grass, but the outcome can be a little disgusting at close quarters. Bloke needs a horse, so he can be ready for the end times, and they do eat some grass.

So, post-end-times, and still getting around without a horse? Living on borrowed time, you'll be glad when you've got that taken care of.

Good advice, thanks bloke.

Messing around with that water key today (finding various parts that would work together, etc.), and then installing it (which wound up being a mistake, because I didn't check first to see that its location was in the way of something else, necessitating its eventual removal) made me forget to do something far more important (non-tuba-building related), which with the holiday weekend upon us, will now have to wait until Tuesday....

(Generally speaking, I remove water keys and replace them with patches. I just don't like them....)

So, you are placing this cone-shaped plug inside the crook, or outside? My verbally oriented mind is having difficulty visualizing how it is placed in the hole....

It's all clear to me now, thanks for the tips. I'll practice on a scrap crook first before I tackle the real one(s).... :tuba:

P.S. - I still hate water keys, but I will grudgingly admit they are useful, sometimes.....
