$10,000? Really?OK, I'll admit that I'm not clicking the links to fully research this myself. But in looking at the Loud mouthpiece website, it truly says that their mouthpieces are $10,000! I understand that some sort of class is included with the price? I'm sorry, but that seems a bit much to me to be selling a mouthpiece. Does anyone have any clarification on this?

It appears you can take a version of the course for free. It's a multi-faceted and disruptive business strategy.
Re: $10,000? Really? On the bright side, t-shirts are only $335!
Re: $10,000? Really?
I shudder when I think of them (mabye) making tubas well over 100k But, gigbags are only 35k! I would put a good signature here, but i dont have one, so this will make do.

I checked their website and this is true. It seems to me that they don't want to sell anything. I'm just crazy about dementia.

Then they would only be $502.20 ![]() Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.
Re: $10,000? Really?I'm surprised no one has mentioned the outer space wild rant the owner went on about some family drama which led to this.

Re: $10,000? Really?Yep, sounds to me like LOUD Mouthpieces is going out of business. To summarize the rant, her husband fell for a sweet thing and sued for divorce. Then the economy hit and she apparently has to raise her prices to an exorbitant amount to save her good name and her company. She's ruined because her husband apparently couldn't keep his pants zipped up, or so I surmised from her rant.

Re: $10,000? Really? The economy doesn't seem to be the culprit, but there's some mention of "illegal sanctions", apparently including one or more restraining orders. There's also mention of a proposed sale. There appear to be employees, and in principle there might be some hope that the company could come back under employee ownership, but from the tone of that document there seems to be little chance for anything like that.
Re: $10,000? Really? Thanks for sharing that document explaining the price change. It's quite a read and I feel sorry after reading it. I sincerely hope her faith will see her through.

Re: $10,000? Really? You guys are in luck. I have a newer LM6, that I'm willing to let go for 5,000 dollars. I'm taking a 5,000 dollar hit here, but that's a sacrifice I'm willing to take for my fellow tuba players.

Re: $10,000? Really? After reading it - more like wading through it - looks like he did what a lot of small business guys do -put the company in the wife's name. My guess is he wants to get his marital half of the assets out and she is using it to get back at him. I have no idea on the law on this, but perhaps he is entitled to part of the ongoing profits, but can't force her to sell it due to her ownership status and perhaps her lawyer told her she can't just unilaterally shut it down to spite him - so she has just raised prices to a ludicrous level that in effect makes sure no one buys and no money is made. Seems like cutting your nose off to spite your face as she forgoes her part of the profit as well. One thing I can tell from her missive - she is one angry woman.
I really like my LM-10, but could they really have been selling a lot of mouthpieces and making lots of money? I bought a second one as a spare because it seemed over the last few years they were already on the verge of going out of business.
Re: $10,000? Really?
though, admittedly, no bling... ...but I could (??) - as has a Japan-based manufacturer of musical merchandise - move most of the production to China, and double all the prices...
