Marzan CC Piston Solo Model Tuba- Price Reduced to $2,800
For sale is my 4 valve piston solo model CC Marzan tuba in very good to excellent condition. The horn comes with a nice side loading gig bag that fits it like a glove. I have owned the instrument since 1978. When I was a student at Indiana University, Harvey Phillips borrowed the horn for a week or two. He told me that Fred Marzan used his (Harvey's) as a model for this tuba and wanted to call it the "Phillips model." Several years ago, I had Dennis Houghton (Houghton Horns) replace the original leadpipe with one that is slightly larger. The tuba is located in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area. I prefer not to ship... but the issue is not out of the question. I'm willing to travel a reasonable distance to meet potential buyers. Two pictures are posted on Dan Schultz's (The Village Tinker) Marzan tuba page- http://thevillagetinker.com/Marzan%20Horns.htm" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank. Additional photos available upon request. $3,000 plus shipping. Steve Shoop- 972-898-2922 (voice/text); stephen_shoop@yahoo.com" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank... or you can send a pm.

Re: Marzan CC Piston Solo Model Tuba For Sale
Nice tuba!
LONG ago, I played in a community band where another player used one of these "small" Marzan tubas. A nice-sized CC tuba (not too big or too small) and a very nice sound. No clue why Willson doesn't still make a tuba of this size (ok, they do, the model 4400... but it's grossly unpopular). Anyone looking for a smaller (but not Yamaha-small) CC tuba should give this a serious look.
PS -- anyone who doesn't know Steve, he's a professional, a great player, and a great person.

Very rare horn, this instrument would be great for someone who appreciates a solo sized CC.

There are several horns on Dan's site. Is this the rotary or piston horn? Thanks, Phil

My Marzan has four piston valves and appears near the bottom of Dan's Marzan page. It was photographed sitting on my kitchen counter. Very sweet horn... and in excellent condition. Comes with soft gig bag. I would be happy to send additional pictures.
