$400 price drop. Now $1100. I am moving on from this project!
Was $1500 Miraphone 185 Bb 4 valve rotary with DEG bell.
Interior of bell is silver plated. Exterior is lacquered brass
Circa 1974. This is a large bore 7/8 size horn
Predecessor to the #282
#1 and #4 valves are "clanky"
Tuning slides were lengthened when the bell was replaced.
Work was done at Tague Music in Citrus Heights, Calif. by a fellow Tubenetter.
No MP , No gig bag.
Lots of cosmetic issues.
Horn Is located in Sacramento.
Buyer pays Greyhound shipping.
Will consider trade for Conn or King sousaphone, no fiberglass

Interested and curious about the history of the horn. What's the story behind the bell swap? Does it play differently than a standard Miraphone?

Frank- The horn plays just fine. It's great for someone who wants the Miraphone quality but not the weight of a full size horn.

Cpause- The prior owner replaced the bell because it had a tear in it. Other than the sound being closer to you ear I believe it play great other than the valve noise hense the low sale price.
