Well... I off to the 'Adult Band Camp' at Ashland University in Ohio next week. I'm agonizing over which horn to take with me... lacquer, silver, or raw brass. Any suggestions? I think I'll take a silver Eb, a raw brass rotary BBb, and a lacquered rotary CC.... just to be on the safe side I don't know nuttin 'bout colledge I just wanna play some purty musik.

Funny you would mention it.... the Eb in question is a bell-front / front-action 4 piston King 'monstor' that I use for Dixie stuff. It's enough to gag most any conductor. It's going along in the van.

You got one for sale? Can I take it along on trial?

Seriously, I guess if you really wanted something that LOOKED obnoxious, but plays and sounds great I would recommend a Conn 2xJ BBb tuba. Of course it would HAVE to be bell front.
