Media and Repair forums CAN YOU SEE BOTH?

Postby FarahShazam » Tue Feb 12, 2019 6:07 pm

While I'm working on proper permissions, here are a couple forums you might be missing:

viewforum.php?f=10 (Media)
viewforum.php?f=27 (Repair, Modification, and Construction)

there is some really good info here.

(oh, and let me know if you can't see these forums. It'll help me troubleshoot)

Tuesday, 2/22 @ 5:00 p.m. Central Time - I see both. I could not see Media earlier this morning. Also, as is to be expected after something like this, I had to log back in this morning; I normally stay logged in permanently but just now had to log in for a second time today, which is very unusual. I know of two actions that will log me out of TN and neither happened today, so all I can say is "Hmm…"

Thanks for all the work to get this place back up and running.

You're welcome. Sean did the "omg, I broke the board, halp" part.

I might have forced people to re-log in for a time. I'll look into that later. I cannot see the Media or Repair forum with Admin credentials; so there is that. If sponsors and registered members can, then that is what is important.

The only way I can see them is to hit the drop box at the lower right corner of the screen. For me, they have never shown up on the main page.

FYI, I do not see the Sponsors forum unless I log-in; used to be accessible without logging in.

(I do see the Media and Repair forums OK.)

Thanks.

Farah, something changed since yesterday. Things displayed properly on the index page when I last surfed through here last evening. Today the Repair and Media forums are now subforms in… well… it is weird. Here is a screen shot so you can see how things look on Safari as of right now (and pretty much all day today).

Here is a small close-up shot of the weirdness…

Here is a large, full screenshot…

I see where they are.

Guys, the admin control panel of this board is the most frustrating example of craptacular programing I've ever seen. Last night I accidently brushed up against an up/down arrow with my thumb on my phone while looking at the page where you can change the order of the forums, it threw the whole thing into a death spiral that wouldn't let me undo what I just did.

I apologized to Farah, but she has spent way too much time trying to fix this. Unless it's life or death, let's just let it be for now.

Interesting that the path shown at the top now says Board index ‹ Non-Music ‹ TubeNet. And of course TubeNet shows up under Music in the board Index.
