We have had a summer music program here in my town for many years. It is a free service provided to all kinds in town (from 3rd grade up) and is sponsered by the town's Parks and Recreation Department. It's run by my former high school band director, and takes place 5 days a week, during mornings (program beings at 8:00, private lessons/practice time run until 10:00, then we have rehearsals for beginner band, concert band, and jazz band, usually lasting 'till 12 or 1:00). It's a great program for the kids (I know I loved it when I went), and even served to help me earn some extra summer cash helping out during high school and early college...it was a great program, I wish more places did things like that.

Sometimes I feel like moving to Canada or Germany. Some place without a lot of the idiots we have here in the U.S.
