gearmusicals.com - legit or not?

Post by Jim Andrus »

Has anyone ever had any experience with this company? Bought tubas from them? Curious to know if they are legitimate.

They look legit. But appearances can be deceiving, as many folks have learned...

Let's just say: I would talk to my credit card company before I send a pile of money to an Indonesian company no one has heard of. I bet shipping is very high. And you might have limited recourse if you get the shaft.

I'll grant that I'm a naturally suspicious person, but based on the 2182 listings on there, I'm leaning toward not legit. The pictures look like a factory-new horn, but they're selling the lacquer one for less than half the cost of a new horn.

The checkout page is also not HTTPS. Usually a huge red flag for any sort of purchase.

I was thinking the same thing. Seems sketchy. Steering clear, thanks for the opinions and information!
