What is it like to go from a Miraphone 191 to a CC York?

Has anyone had experience going from a Small 5/4 to a BAT? Tell me about it.

I added a BAT (BMB J-865) to my collection a couple months ago, having only played on a 5/4 F (Miraphone 181) for about a decade.

One thing is for sure: after only playing my BAT for a couple months, the 181 felt like a toy when I picked it up again.

Changing to a 6/4 means a different kind of airflow. Get used to that, and the rest is pretty much just playing a tuba... Do THIS to sound like THAT

I assume you mean a 6/4 York copy...

The 191 offers much less resistance, with such a large bore.

If I switch to a York copy from a 191 what would it be like and what qualities will change and how will they change? Tell me more in words of stuff when 191 —> York Copy.

Is 191 a good horn? I don’t like it tbh.

If you're around NW Minnesota this summer you can stop by and play my BAT for an afternoon. Most here will say the 191 is a good instrument, but If you don't like it you can always change.
