Thumb ring

Post by Tubameister »

Hello,

I have an old HB-1P that is missing it’s thumb ring and was wanting to find a replacement. I don’t really even know who I would contact about this and I have no idea how much that would cost. If anyone has information on this I would greatly appreciate it

Most techs would be able to adapt something or possibly fabricate one.
Yamaha YBB-631S BBb Tuba, B&H Imperial Eb Tuba, Sterling / Perantucci 1065GHS Euphonium
Yamaha YBL-621 RII Bass Trombone and a bunch of other trombones

I believe the Adam's 4/4 uses the same sort of thumb ring attachment as the old Hirsbrunners. Maybe they would be willing to sell you one if you're looking for something that looks original.

Dan Oberloh (http://www.oberloh.com/) has made a couple of thumb rings for me to replace the original, knife edge rings Miraphone put on my tubas. Dan plays a Hirsbrunner, so he should be able to duplicate your ring.

I concur. Dan makes a great thumbring. Big, round and comfortable. I have a large thumb and it is very comfortable.
