I flew from Phoenix with a PT-1 so I would think so. The only problem I had was going through security.

You'll need to put a seatbelt on it (I learned this from taking my eb helicon to tuba christmas). The stewards will not want it near an emergency exit.

Beyond all this, I'd suggest calling the airline first.
And on the day of your flight, just be extra patient and nice with the people from the airline. Things will probably go wrong, at least a little bit. If you are kind and polite with them, it's more likely that they will work with you to find a good solution.
Or, if they are jerks, take a video and post it to YouTube, Twitter, Facebook...
