Embrasure help

New at teaching I got a tuba student his upper lip curves out away and in front of his lower lip. He jams mps so it almost hits the bottom of his nose. He has no volume and articulations are bad. I am tempted to have him move mps down on face so it is more centered but am not sure, I don’t want to screw things worse.

He is playing a shoulder held convertible Yamaha, gosh they suck. Yama 67c4 mps

i am not an expert. i think the best advice is to have somebody that knows about embouchure take a look at it. but you might show him how you set your mouthpiece on your embouchure. (model the right way) do breathing exercises to keep the correct breathing and proper embouchure position and then add the articulation. once that is successful , then put it in the tuba. it might take a while. and i may not sound good at first.

obvious what he is doing is not working. so it worth a try.
