Last week, I made a road trip down South to Dixie, to blokePlace, for the purpose of having some TLC administered to several tuba bells that were not "up to snuff".
Well, I had a terrific time! It was a great pleasure to finally meet him, after 12 years of an Internet-only acquaintance.....and, not only did bloke do a MASTERFUL job on those bells, but I also got the benefit of being taught the techniques involved in doing the job right, should I ever be fortunate enough to own the equipment needed to effect it.
And, as a bonus, I got to meet Mrs. bloke (a very nice lady indeed!), bloke's lovely daughter and 3 beautiful grandchildren, several dogs, cats, sheep, and catfish, too.
My only regret was that I couldn't stay longer, but my schedule back home wouldn't allow it.

The real question is -- does he have an accent?!

His better half, however, absolutely yes - a true Southern belle.
For that matter, so did the delightful guy at the barbecue place where we went for lunch.

The top one is a York with original engraving? Hope the rest of the horn looks as good as the bell! Looks like the trip was worth it.
