Dentures

Post by 2002too »

I'm having trouble with my teeth. Dentures are an option.

Has anyone gone through the experience of moving to dentures? Is it still possible to play? How does it change the experience? Can you play without them? How does it affect your embouchure? What should I be asking that I am not?

I'm not a pro, just a guy who loves to play. And thanks.

If you've got weak enamel but no issues with cavities, and the roots are still fine, usually getting caps would be the best method to preserve things. My brother had/has really bad acid reflux, and got caps in his 20s. Since they are built on the original roots, there's no need for implants or things like that.

I could have played tuba with dentures because the rim rests on my face bones. But I could not play horn with dentures for front teeth because the rim has some pressure on those teeth. If I lost those....I don't know what I'd do, Maggio system maybe.
