I totally understand. I like the old 14Ks and Fiberglass 36Ks (I owned one for personal use) for a while. The king sousaphones play very well. I just like the feel, and depth of sound on the 20Ks. I also really like the short action valves. That's also why I enjoy the old 2XJ tubas. To me, it's worth a little extra work.

Completely off topic...Have you all played the System Blue 4 valve sousaphone? I played that sousaphone at a couple conferences and I was pleasantly surprised.
